Ingredients
– 1 medium onion, sliced
– 2 tbsp butter
– 1 tbsp flour
– 1 litre beef broth
– 1 cup macaroni pasta
– 1 cup grated cheese
– 1 tsp thyme
– Salt, to taste
– Pepper, to taste
– 2 slices of bread
Method
1. Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.
2. Add the sliced onion and cook until soft and golden, about 15 minutes.
3. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute, then pour in the beef broth.
4. Add the macaroni, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook until the pasta is tender, about 10 minutes.
5. Top with grated cheese and bread, then broil in the oven until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
