Ingredients

– 150 g butter, softened
– 1 cup sugar
– 3 eggs

– 1 teaspoon baking powder
– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
– 2 cups grated apple
– ½ cup chopped nuts (optional)
– ½ cup raisins (optional)

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grease a cake pan or line it with baking paper.
2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until it is light and fluffy.
3. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until evenly combined.
4. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and cinnamon. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients while mixing until just combined.
5. Gently fold in the grated apples, and if using, add the nuts and raisins. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
