Ingredients
– 6 cups of thinly sliced apples
– 1 cup of sugar
– 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
– 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
– ¼ teaspoon of nutmeg
– 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
– 1 package of refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts)
– 2 tablespoons of butter
– 1 egg, beaten
– 1 tablespoon of milk
Method
1. Preheat your oven to 220°C.
2. In a large bowl, mix together the sliced apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
3. Roll out one pie crust and place it in a pie dish. Pour in the apple mixture and dot with butter.
4. Top with the second crust. Cut a few slits in the top for steam to escape, and brush with the egg mixed with milk.
5. Bake for about 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.
