Ingredients
– 1 cup uncooked rice
– 2 cups water
– 1 medium onion, chopped
– 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
– 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
– 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
– 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
– 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 2 tablespoons oil
Method
1. Start by turning your electric pressure cooker to the sauté setting. Add the oil and let it heat up.
2. Once hot, toss in the mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Wait for them to pop.
3. Add the chopped onion and sauté until it becomes soft and translucent. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.
4. Next, throw in the chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook this mixture for a few minutes until the tomatoes soften.
5. Pour in the rice and water, then stir everything together. Close the lid and cook on high pressure for 5 minutes. Allow the pressure to release naturally before opening the lid.
