Ingredients
– 400 g canned tomatoes
– 2 tbsp olive oil
– 1 small onion, chopped
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tsp sugar
– 2 tsp dried oregano
– 1 tsp dried basil
– 1/2 tsp salt
– 1/4 tsp black pepper
– 2 tbsp tomato paste
Method
1. Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until it becomes soft.
2. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for a minute. Be careful not to let it burn.
3. Pour in the canned tomatoes and add the sugar, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
4. Simmer the sauce for about 15 minutes. Stir occasionally until it thickens slightly.
5. Finally, mix in the tomato paste to enhance the flavor. Remove from heat and let it cool.
