Ingredients
- 1 cup semolina
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup chopped strawberries
- ½ cup ghee (clarified butter)
- ½ teaspoon cardamom powder
- ¼ cup chopped nuts (like almonds or pistachios)
- 1 tablespoon rose water
- Pinch of salt
Method
- In a pan, heat the ghee over medium heat and add the semolina. Stir it for a few minutes until it turns light golden.
- In a separate pot, mix the water, sugar, milk, and a pinch of salt. Heat this mixture until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Once the semolina is golden, slowly pour the milk mixture into the pan while stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
- Add the chopped strawberries, cardamom powder, and rose water. Continue stirring until the mixture thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan.
- Once thick, spread the halwa in a greased dish. Top it with chopped nuts and allow it to cool before cutting into pieces.
