Ingredients
- 4 medium ripe peaches
- 250 ml water
- 100 g sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 pinch of salt
- 30 g butter
- Optional: ice cream or whipped cream
Method
1. Start by washing the peaches. Cut them in half and remove the pits. You can peel them if you’d like.
2. In a pot, combine water, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon stick, lemon juice, and salt. Stir these ingredients together.
3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Once it reaches a boil, add the peach halves.
4. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for about 10 minutes until the peaches become soft.
5. Once done, remove from heat and add butter to the mixture. Serve warm or cold, optionally topping with ice cream or whipped cream.
