Ingredients
- 125 g butter, softened
- 150 g sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 250 g plain flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg (optional)
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- In a bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract. Mix well until everything is combined.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg, then gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients while stirring. Pour in the milk and stir until smooth.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared tray, leaving some space in between. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until they are lightly golden.
