Delicious North Indian Chawli Ki Sabzi: Long & Black-Eyed Beans

Ingredients

– 250 g long beans, chopped
– 1 cup black-eyed beans, soaked and drained
– 2 tablespoons oil
– 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
– 1 onion, finely chopped
– 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
– 1 tomato, chopped
– 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
– 1 teaspoon red chili powder
– Salt to taste

Method

1. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and let them crackle.
2. Stir in the chopped onion and cook until it becomes soft and golden.
3. Add the ginger-garlic paste and chopped tomato. Cook for a few minutes until the tomatoes soften.
4. Mix in the turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Add the chopped long beans and soaked black-eyed beans.
5. Pour in enough water to cover the beans. Cover the pan and cook on low heat until the beans are tender.
