Ingredients

  • 2 medium-sized pomfret fish (cleaned)
  • 1 large onion (chopped)
  • 2 large tomatoes (chopped)
  • 2 teaspoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoons coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 200 ml coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste

Method

1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat.
2. Add the chopped onion and cook until it turns golden brown.
3. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for another minute.
4. Mix in the chopped tomatoes along with turmeric, coriander, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
5. Pour in the coconut milk, bringing it to a gentle simmer. Finally, add the pomfret and cook for 10 minutes, or until the fish is fully cooked.
