Ingredients
– 2 ½ cups plain flour

– 1 cup brown sugar
– ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
– 1 large egg

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Method
1. Mix the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves together in a large bowl.
2. In another bowl, cream the brown sugar and butter until it’s smooth and fluffy.
3. Add the egg, treacle, and vanilla to the butter mixture, then stir until everything is combined.
4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
5. Roll the dough into small balls, flatten them slightly, and place them on a baking tray. Bake at 180°C for 10-12 minutes.
