Ingredients
2 cups rice
4 cups water
2 tablespoons oil
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 large onion, sliced
1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, and beans)
1 teaspoon garam masala
Salt to taste
Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Method
Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
Once they are sizzling, add the sliced onion. Cook until the onions become golden brown.
Stir in ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute. Then, add the mixed vegetables. Sauté for about five minutes.
Add rice and water to the pot. Mix in garam masala and salt. Stir well, then cover the pot.
Cook on low heat for about 20 minutes until rice is fluffy. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
