Ingredients
– 1 can (400 g) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– 1 teaspoon paprika
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
– 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
– 1 tablespoon lemon juice
– Fresh herbs (optional for garnish)
Method
1. Preheat your oven to 220°C. Line a baking tray with baking paper for easy cleanup.
2. Dry the chickpeas with a clean towel to remove excess moisture. This helps them become crispy.
3. In a bowl, combine chickpeas, olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well to ensure the chickpeas are evenly coated.
4. Spread the chickpeas in a single layer on the prepared baking tray. Bake for 25-30 minutes until they are crispy and golden brown. Shake the tray halfway through for even cooking.
5. Once done, remove them from the oven and add lemon juice. Allow them to cool slightly. If you want, sprinkle fresh herbs on top for extra flavor.
