Ingredients
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1/4 cup of water
- 1/4 cup of corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup of corn starch
- Red food coloring
- Chocolate chips (for dipping)
- Sprinkles (optional)
- Candy molds
Method
1. In a saucepan, mix together sugar, water, and corn syrup. Heat over medium until the sugar dissolves.
2. Allow the mixture to boil without stirring for about 10 minutes until it reaches a soft-ball stage, around 116°C.
3. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla extract, a few drops of red food coloring, and mix well.
4. In a separate bowl, combine powdered sugar and corn starch. Gradually add this to the warm syrup, mixing until smooth.
5. Pour the mixture into candy molds and let them cool completely. Once set, you can dip them in melted chocolate and add sprinkles if desired.
