Ingredients
– 2 tablespoons fenugreek seeds
– 1 tablespoon oil
– 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
– 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
– 4-5 green chilies
– 1 cup water
– 1 cup yogurt
– 1/2 cup chopped fresh mint leaves
– Salt to taste
– 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida
Method
1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
2. Add fenugreek seeds and sauté until they turn slightly golden. Toss in green chilies and cook for another 2 minutes.
3. Pour in the water and bring to a boil. Allow it to simmer for about 5 minutes.
4. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. Blend the mixture with yogurt, mint leaves, salt, and asafoetida until smooth.
5. Serve the tambli chilled as a refreshing side dish with rice.
