Togaribele Tovve Recipe: Easy Red Gram Dal Rasam For Everyone

Ingredients

  • 1 cup red gram dal
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 large tomato, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon tamarind paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Method

  1. Rinse the red gram dal under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a pot, combine dal and 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then simmer until the dal is soft.
  3. Add chopped tomatoes, tamarind paste, turmeric powder, green chilies, and salt. Stir well and cook for 10 minutes.
  4. In a separate pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds. Wait until they start to pop, then pour this mixture over the dal mixture.
  5. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
