Ingredients
– 1.5 kg of whole turkey
– 50 g of butter
– 2 cups of chopped onion
– 1 cup of chopped celery
– 2 cups of bread crumbs
– 1 cup of chicken broth
– 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
– 1 teaspoon of salt
– ½ teaspoon of pepper
– 1 lemon, halved
Method
1. Preheat your oven to 180°C.
2. Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the onion and celery. Cook until soft.
3. In a large bowl, mix the cooked vegetables with bread crumbs, chicken broth, thyme, salt, and pepper.
4. Stuff the turkey with the bread crumb mixture. Place the lemon halves inside the turkey.
5. Roast the turkey in the oven for around 2.5 hours, or until the meat is cooked through.
