Ingredients

– 1 kg potatoes
– ½ cup milk
– 4 tablespoons butter
– Salt to taste
– Pepper to taste
– Optional: ½ cup cheese
– Optional: 2 cloves garlic
– Optional: Chopped parsley

Method

1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into small chunks.
2. Boil the potatoes in a large pot of salted water until they are soft. This should take around 15-20 minutes.
3. Drain the water and return the potatoes to the pot.
4. Add milk, butter, salt, and pepper. If using garlic or cheese, add those too.
5. Mash everything together until smooth and creamy. Serve hot, topped with parsley if desired.
