Ingredients
- 4 medium potatoes
- 1 small onion
- 60 ml vegetable oil
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Optional: 1 egg, beaten
Method
- Peel the potatoes and grate them into a large bowl.
- Finely chop the onion and mix it with the grated potatoes.
- Use a clean kitchen towel to squeeze out excess moisture from the potatoes and onion.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat and drop spoonfuls of the mixture into the oil.
- Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until crispy and golden brown. Season with salt and pepper.
