Ingredients
– 1 cup cornmeal

Method
1. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Grease a baking dish or line it with baking paper.
2. In a large bowl, mix together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
3. In another bowl, combine the milk, vegetable oil, and egg. Stir well.
4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined. Add the corn and cheese, if using.
5. Transfer the batter to the prepared baking dish. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
