Kottambari Tambuli Recipe (Udupi Style)
Ingredients
1 cup fresh coriander leaves
1 cup yogurt
1 tablespoon grated coconut
1 green chili
1 teaspoon ginger (peeled and chopped)
2 teaspoons cumin seeds
1 tablespoon ghee or oil
Salt to taste
2 cups water
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
Method
1. Start by washing the coriander leaves thoroughly. Chop them and set aside.
2. In a blender, combine the coriander, yogurt, grated coconut, green chili, ginger, cumin seeds, and salt. Blend until smooth.
3. Pour about 2 cups of water into a pot and heat it. Add the blended mixture to this pot.
4. Cook the mixture over low heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5. In a small pan, heat ghee or oil and add mustard seeds. When they start to pop, pour them over the cooked mixture.
