Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a baking pan.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Beat the eggs in one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and milk.
4. Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually combine with the wet mixture, then fold in the chocolate chips and nuts if using.
5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
