Ingredients
– 1 cup (250 ml) brown sugar
– 1/2 cup (125 ml) white sugar
– 1 cup (250 ml) unsalted butter, softened
– 2 large eggs
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 3 cups (375 g) all-purpose flour
– 1 teaspoon baking soda
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 2 cups (300 g) chocolate chips
– 1 cup (100 g) chopped nuts (optional)
Method
1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line baking trays with baking paper.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the brown sugar, white sugar, and softened butter until it’s smooth.
3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
4. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt together. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture.
5. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts if using. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking trays and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden.
