Ingredients
1 whole turkey (about 4-5 kg)
1 large container or cooler
3 litres cold water
1 cup salt
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon herbs (like rosemary or thyme)
1 tablespoon peppercorns
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
Method
1. Start by placing the turkey breast side down in a large container or cooler. Make sure it’s clean.
2. Mix cold water, salt, sugar, herbs, peppercorns, garlic powder, and onion powder in a bowl until everything dissolves.
3. Pour the mixture over the turkey, ensuring it’s fully submerged. If needed, add more water.
4. Seal the container or cooler tight, and let it sit in the fridge for 8 to 12 hours.
5. Once done, remove the turkey, rinse it under cold water, and pat it dry with paper towels.
