Ingredients
– 500 g of yam (suran)
– 2 medium-sized onions, chopped
– 2 medium-sized tomatoes, chopped
– 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
– 1 teaspoon chili powder
– 1 teaspoon garam masala
– 3 tablespoons oil
– Salt, to taste
– Fresh coriander leaves, for garnish
– 1 cup water
Method
1. Begin by peeling the yam and cutting it into small pieces. Boil it in water until soft.
2. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onions until they become translucent.
3. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute. Then add the chopped tomatoes.
4. Stir in chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes soften and blend well with the spices.
5. Mix in the boiled yam pieces and add 1 cup of water. Cook for a few minutes until everything combines well. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving.
