Ingredients
– 1 cup soya chunks
– 2 cups water
– 1 medium beetroot, grated
– 1 cup basmati rice
– 1 medium onion, sliced
– 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
– 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
– 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
– 1 teaspoon garam masala
– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Method
1. Begin by boiling the water in a pot. Once it’s boiling, add the soya chunks and let them cook for about 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan. Add cumin seeds and sliced onion. Sauté until the onion turns golden brown.
3. Mix in ginger-garlic paste and grated beetroot. Cook for about 3 minutes until the beetroot softens.
4. Add cooked soya chunks, rice, turmeric powder, and garam masala. Stir everything together and then pour in 2 cups of water.
5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then cover and simmer on low heat for about 15-20 minutes. Remove from heat and let it sit for 5 minutes before serving.
