Ingredients
– 1 cup of white rice
– 2 cups of water
– A pinch of salt
– 1 tablespoon of oil (optional)
Method
1. Start by rinsing the rice under cold water. This helps remove excess starch.
2. In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, water, and salt.
3. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce heat to low.
4. Cover the saucepan with a lid and let it cook for 18 minutes. Avoid lifting the lid during this time.
5. After 18 minutes, remove the saucepan from heat. Let it sit for 5 minutes before fluffing the rice with a fork.
