Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms Recipe
Ingredients
12 large mushrooms
300 g sausage meat
1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1 teaspoon dried oregano
125 ml cream cheese, softened
50 g grated cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Clean the mushrooms by wiping them with a damp cloth. Remove the stems and chop them finely.
2. Heat a pan over medium heat. Cook the chopped onion and garlic until soft. Add the sausage meat, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
3. Transfer the mixture to a bowl. Stir in the chopped mushroom stems, breadcrumbs, parsley, oregano, cream cheese, and grated cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Stuff each mushroom cap with the sausage mixture. Place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
5. Bake the mushrooms for 20 minutes or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Serve warm.
