Ingredients

– 500 ml milk
– 100 g sugar
– 2 tablespoons butter
– 3 eggs
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1 cup stale bread, torn into pieces
– 1/2 cup raisins
– 1 tablespoon lemon juice
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– Ground cinnamon for sprinkling

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking dish with butter.
2. In a saucepan, heat the milk and sugar over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
3. Whisk the eggs and vanilla extract in a bowl. Slowly pour in the warm milk mixture while stirring.
4. Add the bread, raisins, lemon juice, salt, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Mix everything until well combined.
5. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Bake for about 30-35 minutes or until the pudding is set and golden on top.
