Ingredients

– 1 whole turkey (about 4 kg)
– 125 g butter, softened
– 1 lemon, halved
– 1 onion, quartered
– 4 cloves garlic, crushed
– 1 tablespoon dried thyme
– 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
– 500 ml chicken stock
– Salt to taste
– Pepper to taste

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
2. Rub the turkey with softened butter. Make sure to cover it evenly.
3. Place the lemon, onion, and garlic inside the turkey’s cavity.
4. Sprinkle thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper over the turkey skin.
5. Pour the chicken stock into the roasting pan and roast for 3 hours or until the turkey is golden and juices run clear.
