Ingredients

– 1 large head of broccoli
– 2 L water
– 1 tsp salt
– Olive oil (for drizzling)
– Lemon juice (optional)
– Pepper (to taste)
– 1 clove garlic (optional)
– 1 tbsp butter (optional)
– Grated cheese (optional)
– ¼ cup almonds (optional)

Method

1. Start by washing the broccoli under cold water. Cut it into bite-sized pieces.
2. Fill a large pot with 2 L of water and add 1 tsp of salt. Bring the water to a boil on the stove.
3. Once boiling, add the broccoli florets carefully. Cook for about 2–3 minutes until bright green and tender.
4. Drain the broccoli in a colander and rinse with cold water to stop cooking.
5. Serve the broccoli on a plate. Drizzle with olive oil and lemon juice. Add garlic, butter, pepper, grated cheese, or almonds if desired.
