Ingredients
1/4 cup corn kernels
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda

Method
1. Heat a large pot over medium heat. Pour in the vegetable oil. Add a few corn kernels to test the heat; when they pop, it’s ready.
2. Once the oil is hot, add the remaining corn kernels and the sugar. Stir well to coat the kernels.
3. Cover the pot with a lid and let the corn pop. Shake the pot occasionally to prevent burning.
4. When the popping slows down, remove the pot from the heat. Carefully take off the lid to avoid steam.
5. Sprinkle salt and baking soda over the popped corn. Toss well to mix everything together.
