Ingredients
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 cup semolina flour
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1 large egg
– 1/2 cup water
– 2 tablespoons olive oil
– 2 cups marinara sauce
– 1 cup grated cheese
– Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)
– Black pepper to taste
Method
1. Mix the all-purpose flour, semolina flour, and salt in a bowl.
2. Make a well in the center and add the egg, water, and olive oil. Stir until the dough comes together.
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
4. Roll out the dough and cut it into small pieces, then shape them into cavatelli.
5. Cook the cavatelli in boiling salted water for 3-4 minutes, then drain and toss with marinara sauce.
