Ingredients
– 1 kg beef tenderloin
– 2 tablespoons olive oil
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1 teaspoon black pepper
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
– 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
– 50 ml red wine (optional)
– 50 ml beef broth
– 2 tablespoons butter
Method
1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
2. Season the beef tenderloin with salt and black pepper.
3. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef for 4-5 minutes on each side.
4. Add garlic, rosemary, thyme, red wine, and beef broth to the skillet. Cook for another minute.
5. Transfer the skillet to the oven. Roast for about 20 minutes for medium-rare. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
