Ingredients

– 500g pork belly, cut into large pieces
– 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 10g ginger, sliced
– 3 tablespoons soy sauce
– 2 tablespoons rice wine
– 1 tablespoon sugar
– 1 star anise
– 200ml water
– 2 spring onions, chopped

Method

1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
2. Sauté the minced garlic and sliced ginger until fragrant.
3. Add the pork belly pieces and cook until they start to brown.
4. Stir in soy sauce, rice wine, sugar, and star anise. Mix well.
5. Pour in the water, cover, and let it simmer for about 30 minutes. Add chopped spring onions before serving.
