Ingredients
1 medium Mangalore cucumber, peeled and chopped
1 cup chana dal (split chickpeas)
2 tablespoons oil
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
2 green chilies, slit
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
Salt to taste
Fresh coriander leaves, chopped for garnish
1/2 cup water
Method
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
Add mustard seeds and let them pop.
Stir in cumin seeds and green chilies, cooking until fragrant.
Next, combine chopped Mangalore cucumber and chana dal. Add turmeric powder, salt, and water.
Cover and simmer for about 20 minutes, or until chana dal is tender. Garnish with fresh coriander.
