Ingredients
– 1 medium bottle gourd (lauki), peeled and diced
– 6 to 8 dried lentil balls (badi)
– 1 tablespoon cooking oil
– 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
– 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
– 1 teaspoon coriander powder
– 1 teaspoon red chili powder
– Salt, to taste
– 1 tablespoon fresh coriander leaves, chopped
– 1 cup water
Method
1. Heat oil in a large pan over medium flame. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
2. Add the diced bottle gourd and stir well. Cook for about 5 minutes until it softens.
3. Mix in dried lentil balls, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Stir everything together.
4. Pour in the water and bring the mixture to a boil. Cover and let it simmer for about 15 minutes.
5. Once the vegetables are tender, sprinkle fresh coriander on top before serving.
