Karnataka Style Hurigadle Tambittu: Easy Gram Flour Ladoo Recipe

Ingredients

– 1 cup of gram flour
– 1 cup of jaggery or brown sugar
– ½ cup of grated coconut
– ½ cup of ghee (clarified butter)
– 1 teaspoon of cardamom powder
– ¼ cup of roasted peanuts
– A pinch of salt
– 1 tablespoon of water
– Optional: chopped nuts for garnish

Method

1. Start by roasting the gram flour in a pan over medium heat. Stir it continuously until it turns a light golden color and has a nutty aroma.
2. Add ghee to the roasted flour and mix well for a few minutes. This should create a smooth mixture.
3. In a separate pot, heat the jaggery with water until it melts. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.
4. Once melted, pour the jaggery syrup into the flour mixture. Add the grated coconut, cardamom powder, peanuts, and a pinch of salt. Combine everything thoroughly.
5. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then shape it into small balls with your hands. Optionally, you can roll them in chopped nuts for garnish.
