Ingredients
1 cup jasmine rice
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon butter or oil (optional)
Method
Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
Combine the rinsed rice, water, and salt in a saucepan.
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, remove the pot from heat and let it sit, covered, for another 10 minutes.
