Ingredients

– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 2 tablespoons sugar
– 1 tablespoon baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/3 cup cold butter
– 3/4 cup milk
– 2 tablespoons cinnamon
– 1/2 cup brown sugar
– 1 egg
– Optional icing for topping

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 220°C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together.
3. Cut the cold butter into the flour until the mixture resembles crumbs. Then, stir in the milk to form a dough.
4. Roll the dough out on a floured surface to 1 cm thick. Sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar over the dough, then fold and roll it up.
5. Cut the roll into heart shapes and place them on the prepared tray. Brush with beaten egg. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.
