Gingered Pear Brown Butter Upside-Down Cake Recipe To Delight

Ingredients

– 2 large ripe pears, peeled and sliced
– 100g unsalted butter
– 1 cup brown sugar
– 1 teaspoon ground ginger
– 1 egg
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 1 teaspoon baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
– Pinch of salt
– 1/2 cup milk

Method

1. Preheat your oven to 180°C and grease a round cake pan.
2. Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat until it turns golden brown.
3. Stir in brown sugar and ginger until mixed well and remove from heat.
4. Spread the butter mixture evenly on the base of the prepared pan. Arrange pear slices on top.
5. Mix egg, flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and milk in a bowl. Pour the batter over the pears and smooth the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
