Ingredients
2 cups basmati rice
4 cups water
1 tablespoon cooking oil
1 onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon ginger, grated
1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
Method
Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
Heat the cooking oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Sauté sliced onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger in the pot until onions are golden brown.
Add mixed vegetables, salt, cumin seeds, and turmeric powder. Stir for a couple of minutes.
Pour in the water and bring to a boil. Once boiling, add rice, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes or until rice is cooked.
