Ingredients
- 6 large eggs
- 1 tsp baking soda
- water (enough to cover eggs)
- ice (enough for an ice bath)
- salt (optional, for taste)
Method
1. Start by placing the eggs in a pot. Add water until it just covers the eggs completely.
2. Add baking soda to the water. This helps make peeling easier later on.
3. Bring the water to a boil on the stove. Once it begins boiling, cover the pot and remove it from heat.
4. Let the eggs sit for about 12 minutes. Prepare a bowl of ice water while you wait.
5. After 12 minutes, transfer the eggs to the ice water. Let them cool for at least 5 minutes before peeling.
