Easy Spaghetti Aglio E Olio Recipe: Authentic Italian Delight

Ingredients

– 300 g spaghetti
– 60 ml olive oil
– 5 garlic cloves, sliced
– 1 tsp red pepper flakes
– 1/2 tsp salt
– 1/2 tsp black pepper
– 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
– 40 g grated Parmesan cheese
– Lemon zest (from 1 lemon)
– Extra parsley for garnish

Method

1. Boil a large pot of salted water. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add sliced garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook until garlic turns golden.
3. Drain the spaghetti, reserving a little pasta water. Add the spaghetti to the pan with garlic. Toss to combine, adding a splash of reserved water if needed.
4. Season with salt, black pepper, and lemon zest. Add chopped parsley and mix well.
5. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan and extra parsley for garnish.
