Ingredients
– 4 kg whole turkey
– 125 ml olive oil
– 2 teaspoons salt
– 1 teaspoon black pepper
– 1 onion, quartered
– 2 cups chicken broth
– 1 lemon, halved
– 4 sprigs fresh thyme
– 4 sprigs fresh rosemary
– 2 tablespoons butter
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
2. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and rub it with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
3. Stuff the turkey cavity with onion, lemon, thyme, and rosemary.
4. Pour chicken broth into the pan and add butter on top of the turkey.
5. Roast the turkey in the oven for about 2.5 to 3 hours. Baste occasionally and check for doneness.
