Easy Panettone Recipe: Bake Delicious Italian Holiday Bread

Ingredients

– 500 g all-purpose flour
– 100 g sugar
– 125 ml warm milk
– 100 g butter, melted
– 4 large eggs
– 10 g dry yeast
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– 100 g dried fruit (like raisins or cranberries)
– 1 orange, zested
– A pinch of salt

Method

1. Warm the milk in a small pot until it is slightly hot, not boiling. Mix in yeast and let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Make a well in the center and add the melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and orange zest.
3. Pour the yeast mixture into the well and mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
4. Add the dried fruit to the dough and knead until evenly distributed. Place it in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
5. Preheat the oven to 175°C (345°F). Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a round baking pan. Bake for about 35-40 minutes or until golden brown.
