Ingredients

– 1 kg potatoes, peeled and chopped
– 200 ml milk
– 50 g butter
– 200 g cheese, shredded
– Salt, to taste
– Pepper, to taste
– 1 tsp garlic powder
– 1 tsp onion powder
– ¼ cup sour cream
– ¼ cup chives, chopped

Method

1. Begin by boiling a large pot of salted water. Add the chopped potatoes. Cook until they are tender, about 15-20 minutes.
2. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash them with a potato masher until smooth.
3. Stir in the milk, butter, and cheese until everything is well combined.
4. Mix in salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, sour cream, and chives. Adjust seasoning to taste.
5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Cover and refrigerate if preparing in advance. Bake at 180°C until heated through, about 30 minutes.
