– 1 cup long-grain rice
– 2 cups water

– 1 teaspoon turmeric
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1 onion, chopped
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 cup frozen peas
– 1 red bell pepper, diced
– Fresh parsley, for garnish

Method

1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
2. Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic; cook until softened.
3. Stir in the turmeric, salt, and rice; mix everything together.
4. Pour in the water, then bring the mixture to a boil. Cover the pot, reduce the heat, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes.
5. After cooking, remove from heat and add peas and bell pepper. Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with parsley before serving.
