Delicious Whole Wheat Lachha Paratha: Layered Indian Flatbread Recipe

Ingredients

3 cups whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons oil
1 cup water (adjust as needed)
4 tablespoons ghee or butter (for cooking)
Extra flour for dusting

Method

Combine the whole wheat flour and salt in a large bowl.
Add the oil and gradually mix in water until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it’s smooth, then cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Divide the dough into 8 equal balls. Roll each ball into a thin round, then brush with ghee and sprinkle some flour on top.
Stack the rounds to form layers, then roll each stack into a flat circle. Cook on a hot skillet until golden brown, flipping as needed.
