Ingredients
– 200 g unsalted butter
– 200 g brown sugar
– 100 g white sugar
– 60 ml water
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– 200 g chocolate chips
– 100 g chopped nuts (like almonds or pecans)
– 1/2 tsp sea salt
– 1/2 tsp baking soda
Method
1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking tray with baking paper.
2. In a saucepan, melt the butter together with both sugars and water over medium heat. Stir constantly until the mixture comes to a boil.
3. Once boiling, add the vanilla extract, sea salt, and baking soda. Keep stirring for about 5 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.
4. Pour the mixture evenly onto the prepared baking tray. Spread it out with a spatula.
5. Bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Once done, sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts on top. Let it cool completely before breaking into pieces.
